Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

J.O.B.S. in partnership with ed2go offers online education courses designed to provide the workforce with sustainable skills necessary to enter a new field or advance students’ current career. Our online advanced career training courses provide the most effective online training. Students are assigned a student advisor who will assist the students with setting an achievable study/completion schedule.

Cost Explanation

J.O.B.S. receive subsidized by local, state, or federal funds, or funding by any person, firm, association, or agency other than the student enrolled. There is no charge to enroll women (student) who are unemployed, underemployed, or live in underserved communities (students) for any of the J.O.B.S. offered career training programs or job-readiness courses.

The students will not pay program tuition, fees, supplies, exams, and study materials. J.O.B.S. will pay (on the students’ behalf) the partners, vendors, and suppliers for educational material, services and/or resources.

What is required to be accepted into J.O.B.S. / Ed2go Certified Clinical Medical Assistant career training course?

Applicants must provide evidence (government issued / legal documentation) of being at least 18 years old and Texas Resident

Applicants must provide proof of successful completion of secondary education (high school diploma or GED certificate)

Applicants must complete the 8850 Work Opportunity Credit form (validation will be apart of background screening)

Applicants must provide (2) forms of photo identifications and a social security card

Applicants must complete the 123test: Career Aptitude Test and Learning Styles Quiz then submit the results to the Enrollment department 

Applicants must complete a school admission virtual meeting with School Director (OR) Enrollment Coach to discuss results of student application & Career Aptitude and Learning Styles  

Applicants must successfully pass a criminal background check

Enrollment Requirement (student non-funded) 

Applicants who have been convicted of any felony will not be considered for admission to the J.O.B.S.

Applicants must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Due to the nature of our mission, and our source of funding, one of the key entrance requirements of all applicants, is the applicant MUST meet one of the following conditions:

What Is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)?

A certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA) is a healthcare professional with advanced training who fulfills both clinical and administrative tasks in hospitals and other healthcare settings. The National Healthcareer Association (NHA) reports medical assistants are one of the fastest-growing occupations in the healthcare industry. A CCMA is usually found working in outpatient clinics and private doctor’s offices.

What Role Does Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Play on the Team?

Medical assistants are an integral part of the medical team and contribute to the flow of patient care through a wide range of duties, including obtaining detailed patient history, obtaining vital signs, administering point of care testing, medications, injections, and vaccinations.

A certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA) can also assist with clinical procedures, including minor surgical in-office interventions that require sterile protocol. Furthermore, they prepare patients for X-rays, take electrocardiograms, remove sutures, conduct wound care, change dressings, collect specimens, order proper laboratory studies, etc. They also facilitate communication between the patient and other healthcare professionals.

Overview

J.O.B.S. / Ed2go online Clinical Medical Assistant certification course, students will learn a broad range of skills that make medical assistants versatile and valuable, including medical terminology, medical law and ethics, HIPAA rules, scheduling systems, and the importance of certified clinical medical assistants as healthcare team members. Students will also learn medical terms and their application as part of the students’ medical assistant training.  The asynchronous online clinical medical assistant certification course, also includes, the opportunity to become CPR certified and participate in an unpaid clinical experience. 

Students will also be prepared to perform duties from the front office to the back office. These duties include measuring vital signs, assisting with exams, performing laboratory testing, maintaining equipment and supplies, administering injections, obtaining blood specimens, scheduling appointments, registering patients, and answering and returning phone calls.  Students will start by learning the origins of medical words and how to recognize prefixes and suffixes used in medical terminology. Then students will learn about the body as a whole and how to differentiate cells, tissues, organs, systems, and cavities. Next, students will learn to define and describe the function of each system of the human body.

Nationally Accredited Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification

J.O.B.S. / Ed2go online medical assistant certification (CCMA) 28-week course includes: interactive simulations, virtual labs, 3D models, video lectures, quizzes, and exams to engage our students throughout their course, ideal for career changers or students who does not have healthcare experience. 

After successfully completing this program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) examination. Students will have a choice of taking the exam online with a proctor or at a PSI testing center.

J.O.B.S. will purchase for each enrolled student the NHA CCMA exam (plus one retake of certification exam, as needed), NHA CCMA study guide (online), study guide (book), 6 practice exams, NHA Anatomy & Physiology, NHA Career Case Study (PersonAbility), NHA SkillsBuilder Clinical, NHA SkillsBuilder Admin, and NHA Patient Experience Simulation.
