J.O.B.S. partners with Texas Academy of General Dentistry (Texas AGD) to offer an online 45-day Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) course designed to provide the workforce with sustainable skills necessary to either enter the dental assistant field or advance dental assistants working in a dental or orthodontal practice. Texas AGD online RDA certificate course has been approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). Texas AGD course provides the most effective online training for those who want to become a registered dental (or orthodontal) assistant OR current dental (or orthodontal) assistant that want to take X-rays. Upon completing this online RDA certification course, our students will become a Registered Dental Assistant meeting the state’s requirement to take dental (or orthodontal) X-rays in a dentist’s practice and/or orthodontist’s practice in the state of Texas.
J.O.B.S. receive subsidized by local, state, or federal funds, or funding by any person, firm, association, or agency other than the student enrolled. There is no charge to enroll women (student) who are unemployed, underemployed, or live in underserved communities (students) for any of the J.O.B.S. offered career training programs or job-readiness courses.
The students will not pay program tuition, fees, supplies, exams, and study materials. J.O.B.S. will pay (on the students’ behalf) the partners, vendors, and suppliers for educational material, services and/or resources.
How to be accepted into J.O.B.S. / Texas AGD career training course?
Applicants must provide evidence (government issued / legal documentation) of being at least 18 years old and Texas resident
Applicants must provide proof of successful completion of secondary education (high school diploma or GED certificate)
Applicants must complete the 8850 Work Opportunity Credit form (validation will be apart of background screening)
Applicants must provide (2) forms [one must be a state of Texas (government issued / legal documentation) photo identifications] and a social security card
Applicants must complete the 123test: Career Aptitude Test and Learning Styles Quiz then submit the results to the Enrollment department
Applicants must complete a school admission virtual meeting with School Director (OR) Enrollment Coach to discuss results of student application & Career Aptitude and Learning Styles
Applicants must undergo fingerprinting criminal background check, please check out TSBDE website for more details
Enrollment Requirement (student non-funded)
Applicants who have been convicted of any felony will not be considered for admission to the J.O.B.S.
Applicants must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Due to the nature of our mission, and our source of funding, one of the key entrance requirements of all applicants, is the applicant MUST meet one of the following conditions:

The Registered Dental Assistant course will prepare students to take dental or orthodontia X-rays in the state of Texas. Students will learn the role, responsibilities, and legal considerations as a registered dental assistant in various dental practices. The course curriculum includes: radiology (X-rays), jurisprudence (legal considerations), and infection control.
Once registered for the course, students will have 45 days to complete the course and pass the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) exam. Students must successfully complete the requirements for the TSBDE Registered Dental Assistant State of Texas certification application, includes successfully passing and the completion of Texas AGD Registered Dental Assistant course and TSBDE final assessment, completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course, and completion of a Human Trafficking Prevention course (facilitated by Unbound).
To earn a certificate from Texas AGD, students must complete the online course within 45 days from the day of enrollment.
Texas AGD provides each student access to study material for the TSBDE RDA exam.
Students will receive the following to prepare for TSBDE RDA exam: exam review, flash cards, videos, handouts, and TWO attempts on the TSBDE RDA exam.
